Hi Gary - I continue to admire your efforts in support of U.S.A Veterans. You are a wonderful role model for adults and children all over the world.
We are remembering the Battle of Britain here in the U.K. as Churchill said 'never was so much owed by so many to so few'.
Today we( my family -husband and 3 daughters) visited the famous Battle of Britain airfield at Biggin Hill Air . There is a tiny Chapel which serves as both a working chapel and museum- very peaceful and moving . I met a USA Vietnam Vet and his invalid wife on vacation here, and we exchanged a few words. I shook his hand as he seemed almost ashamed to say that he had served in vietnam. He was spat upon as we know on his return. I said to him that he should be proud serving his country as he did and shook his hand again- He looked pleased and surprised at my reaction.
I see today that you have been to the Medical Centres again and visited the young injured troops - a wonderful days work.
Thank you again for the wonderful Christian example that you set to us all.
I admire your wonderful acting skills and although we love CSI N.Y your talents are wasted in that role, but I see that it gives you the chance to travel with the USO and that terrific Band of yours.

With Best Wishes from the U.K.

Every friday night I watch the CSi : NY. I looove that ! I'm a real fan of you, as actor and musician.
There is not a very long time that I discovered that you played the bass with your group.
I find your music is very very good. I hope one day I will come to see you playing. But USA are far...
It's a dream, and perhaps one day it will be real. I continue to support you in all that you make.

I just wanted to say thank you for your support. I am a 17year veteran of the USAF. I served in desert storm I built the bombs for the carpet bombing over northern Iraq. I have served two tours in Iraq, during my time in Iraq I became ill from the burn pits and now I'm waiting for my medical retirement (16 months and counting). I am very proud of the time I have served my country and I would do it again even the medical problems that I now am dealing with and the fact that I am getting very little support from the military. I love this country with all my heart.
My son is a Cpl in the USMC, during my last deployment in Iraq he was serving his first in Iraq. He was deployed to Afganastan March of this year and on 31 March he was shot in the leg. He recieved his purple heart from the Commandant of the Marine Corps and now is recovering at Camp Pendleton, Ca.
Just knowing that some people like yourself truely do care makes all that my family has gone through worth it. Thank you agian and God Bless America

Mr. Sinise,

I was fortunate enough to attend the Second Annual Celebration of Freedom event in 2009 as an escort from the Joint Service Honor Guard from the Presidio of Monterey. It was a humbling experience to be in the presence of so many truly honorable service members. Getting to greet, salute and shake hands with the Medal of Honor recipients that were present is a highlight of my still young military career. Those awe-inspiring and humble service members are wonderful examples for our current military generation.
I had heard of your involvement and support of our troops before this event. But hearing you speak and actually seeing your support was impressive. Seeing the recognition coming from all directions at the event was a nice reminder that so many people really do support our troops.
I just wanted to say thank you for all you do for our troops and veterans. And I’m excited for your upcoming concert on Elmendorf AFB. Can’t wait to hear the LT Dan Band in person! If you need anything while you’re in the area, I’d be glad to help.

Thanks again for your support.

Dear Gary,

Last night, Saturday, August 21st, we saw you and your band at the St. George Theater in Staten Island, NY at the Benefit for Brendan Marrocco. You guys were terrific! It was such an emotional for all of us, my husband is a Vietnam Vet who served with the 82nd Airborne Division, my son Nicholas is an NYPD Officer, my son James is currently with the U.S. Army Reserves. He saw you perform while doing basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri.

It was a wonderful night, and I just wanted to thank you for all the wonderful things you do for our Soldiers. We are big fans of everything you do, and have done in the past.

I left you a gift bag with a letter and some CDs of a song that my husband wrote as a tribute to all of our heroes. I hope that you have the opportunity to listen to "Honor Them All". Thank you, The Castoro Family, SI, NY

Mr. Sinise,
I have never written a fan letter to any actor in my entire life, but after going to your free to military concert in Fayetteville, I found it most necessary to write one to thank you. For someone to volunteer their time to do the things you do for our nations veterans is in keeping with the finest attributes that this country has to offer. From War memorials, to wounded warrior projects, your contributions to these causes have created hope and inspiration to many veterans including this one. The soldiers I serve every day and I had an outstanding time dancing away to all your music and from the depths of my heart thank you Sir for all you do.

Greetings guys! Please insure that Mr. Sinise gets this message (i don't know of any other way to contact him):

From Todd Longanacre (the Author of ONE SOLDIER’S SOMBER FLIGHT; FINDING INSPIRATION IN THE DARKEST OF PLACES) comes a new and extremely unique book—in the style of an official military operation’s order (a Tactical OPORD). It's entitled: OUR PATRIOT MISSION; TACTICAL GUIDANCE FOR THE CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVE! However, I need your assistance…

After nearly a full year of research into the original intentions of our founding fathers and, documenting their guidance into a modern military mission order format, I've gone above and beyond to stand up for biblical, fiscal, borders, language, culture, and constitutional conservatism.

Now I need your help so that the fruits of my labor can be realized. Will you assist me in finding a reputable literary agent who has the spine enough to stand with me and get my new unpublished tactical mission guidance to as many patriotic citizens that will read it? I think that your influence can put me in contact with just the right individual who will appreciate the unorthodox approach, unconventional wisdom and, more importantly, the significant market of patriotic Americans thirsting for such tactical guidance designed to defeat the enemies of our Constitution.

You will be compensated for your efforts. I appreciate any assistance that you can provide for this conservative cause...OUR PATRIOT MISSION; TACTICAL GUIDANCE FOR THE CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVE!

Respectfully;

Major Todd Longanacre

I live in a very small town the Gulf Coast of Texas and own a business here. Every year on the third Saturday in February I host a Chili & BBQ Cook-off and an auction to raise money for different causes. We have done some for MS, American Diabetes Association, Family Crisis Center, the American Legion and our own volunteer Fire Department. This year it will be for our local chapter for Disabled Veterans. I was a teen-ager and had ****** graduated when Vietnam ended and had family & friends in that conflict, and still remember it all well.
Now I receive so many e-mails on how our service men and women are struggeling after they have served our great country and so many are homeless, unable to get the proper medical care that should not even be an issue!!
Where I live in south Texas, there is a small clinic in McAllen, Tx for outpatient care, but the closest hospital for the veterans is in San Antonio, Tx. The Rio Grands Valley has so many brave young men and women, and veterans from previous wars, conflicts, etc. and it is a shame that in this new century, not much has changed for them.
I am asking for donations of either money or items for the auction to help raise money for this good cause.
Please send checks or money orders, NO CASH! These checks and money orders are to be made out to the Disabled Veterans of America.
Please contact me via e-mail at holeybuckets2000@yahoo.com and I will give all the information at that time.
Thank you for your consideration and help. God Bless America and the people who serve her.

Y'all do a wonderful thing by taking your music to the troops!

I'm writing to draw your attention to my own musical project to honor our veterans and raise awareness and money for the great work of the Wounded Warrior Project. I work with many uniformed and retired veterans, and one of my colleagues lost her son to the effects of PTSD. That's why this project is dedicated to the memory of SGT Sean Webster, USMC.

Working with my friends in sheep2LOUD and some very generous recording professionals, I wrote and recorded a song called "Invisibly Wounded" and made a music video for it. You can watch the video on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnyuGP2bpUc

We're making the mp3 available for sale at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/sheep2LOUD

My goal is to raise at least $10,000 for the Wounded Warrior Project. With the right bump, I think this is really possible.

Thank you very much for all you've done for our service men and women over the years.

Cheers,
Rich Gordon

Gary & the Fabulous Lt Dan Band,
I was the lucky Viet vet that was brought on stage Saturday night at the Quest Casino- what a thrill - you guys and gals put on a GREAT show - from beginning to end the enthusiasm, energy, and most of all the sincerity of your words touched all of us. Over the years i have seen other shows but none have had quite the Heart that you and the Band have. The work you do is so important to an often forgotten group of Americans- bless all of you - keep up the good work and come to Florida sometime. Also i would like to make a donation to the charity of your choice - if possible let me know how to do that.

Just wanted to let Gary and the band know how much we loved having them come to Spokane. It was the most fun concert I've been to in a long time. And very special to get to meet them in the lounge afterward. They were all so gracious and polite to us. I got a seriously good photo of Gary on stage that I posted my FB page, and it shows up on his page. I hope he can view it. I have had many comments about what a great, though candid, shot I got. It always helps to have good subject matter.

We appreciate all that he and the band are doing. Nice to see such a great actor giving his time and energy to the world through music.

We would like to "THANK" Gary and all the personnel in his organization for all they have done to entertain and support our military troops here and abroad. It appears to me that Gary Sinese may be the Bob Hope, whose show I saw in 1966 while stationed on Guam, of this century.

Happened to be browsing for a recipe when I came across a Rachael Ray page with a link to Gary Sinise... curious about the connection I clicked - otherwise I'd never have known about the Lt. Dan Band and the awesome work y'all are doing for our armed service people all over the world. On behalf of my dad who served in Korea, my husband's dad who served during Vietnam, a cousin who lost most of his leg in Iraq, my niece's husband who recently deployed to Afghanistan (and will see the birth of his first child via SKYPE in a few weeks), THANK YOU for giving your time, talents and resources to support our military! I can't believe there's a single American who isn't at least as personally connected to someone in the military as we are, and therefore I can't believe I didn't know before now what y'all have been doing for these past several years! Thank you for the GREAT performance and tribute at EAA Oshkosh 2010! We really enjoyed your show. We had a pleasant surprise when our two daughters showed up at OSHKOSH on Thursday unannounced. Both are serving in the U.S. Army. They had the honor and pleasure to participate in the Veteran's Parade on Friday with you in the lead escort co-pilots seat of the B-25. Mr. Sinise,

First, I appreciate your dedication and support of our troops. It's AMAZING to know that there are those out there with your reaching power than can and do so much to keep them in the constant reminder of what they are doing for our country.

I would like to invite you to join my son's Army facebook page Brandon M. Bakemeyer - U. S. Soldier that I run, it is a private page and it's not about celebrities or stars, it's about heros, dedication and those that write blank checks with their lives. He was just deployed to S. Korea for two years. I fully support our troops and as a Mother, and as an American I think it's very important we don't let one day go by that these brave men and women think that we have forgotten them.

I am also trying to work with a few other artists to try and get a concert together for the troops at Camp Casey/Camp Hovey in S. Korea. Alot of concerts take place in Iraq and Afagan, obviously those are the most dangerous places, but Korea is not as "safe" as the news media makes it out to be. My son is located right at the 38th parallel, or right at the north and south border, which is a very dangerous place to be. He has also been to the DMZ area a few times and usually has security breifings about 4-6 times a day.

If you can, please join his page, just for updates, and then we can see in the future, probably sometime in the spring of getting something together for his base. I appreciate anything that you can do, and again, I appreciate you as an American doing your part not to forget our soldiers fighting for our rights and our freedoms.

God bless you and all that you to do support our troops, our country and to keep that red, white, and blue spirit alive!!

Hooah!!

Gary and Band,

We just attended your gig at the Oshkosh AirVenture fly-in. We wandered over to the Theater in the Woods about four hours before show time in order to get seats. Not only was it an AMAZING performance by all, but Gary was gracious throughout both the rehearsal and the show and even interacted with the folks. It's so refreshing and heartwarming to see a patriotic celebrity who is not ashamed of his country or his God. Thank you for what you do in support of our troops and our veterans! We love ya "Lt. Dan."

I just went along to the airshow in Osh Kosh to keep my husband company. Airplanes to me are a necessary commodity but yipes am I bored by them or what??? When I learned that you were there to perform I thought maybe there's would be a little something I might enjoy. Boy was I in for a big treat!! What a wonderful concert by Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band. I did not know that you were such a dedicated advocate for the veterans. How lucky they are to have you speaking up for them. We do need to remind ourselves how fortunate we are that the veterans have made tremendous sacrifices for all of us. Thank you so much for bringing that point home. And what a group of talented musicians you have. You made my vacation more than bearable (a huge feat). Loved all the variety of the music. Can you add James Taylor or Simon and Garfunkel? How about Peter Paul and Mary? Will you ever perform in the Niagara Falls/Buffalo area? Hope so!

I am writing to you because I am a volunteer with Building Homes for Heroes and live on Long Island NY - I recently found out about your concert in support of this organization. I know that theres probably no chance that this will happen but I was hoping that your concert was not on the same night as "The Last Play at Shea" as we just bought tickets to the show and we will ****** make it there because we will just be arriving back in town after being on the road for a week. My husband is a combat vet and I am retired military and I was so pleased when I learned of your band and all that you guys do for the troops. I recently read the story about SPC Brendan and his spirit is inspiring. I wish that we could come to the concert but will be thinking of how proud we are to be Americans and how lucky we are that there are good people like you guys out there supporting us.

Thanks and God Bless!

Mr.SInise and band members. I attended the concert at EAA Airventure osh kish, WI Friday night. I was very impressed with the showing, selection of music, and total dedication of the band members. I am a four servie veteran and this concert was very emotional. I was glad to be a part of not only the airsow but the conert. Although it was concidence that you happened to be the headliner atg the concert I am glad that I mad the venture to Airventure 2010.

PLease keep up the faboulos work you do with not only disabled veterans but veterans in general. My brother is over in Afghanistan now.... I sent home the photos. I had a wonderful time, and I sincerely hope that you are able to make EAA 2010 or Chrysler Nationals in Carlisle 2010...I would gladly stick around for that.

Thanks again and keep up the wonderul work.

Thank you so much for playing at the EAA convention this year. The band was a big hit with the crowd, and I am very impressed with how much you are doing for the DAV and for the troops who are serving around the world. It was also nice to learn the story about your uncle Jack, and see him get his well deserved hero's welcome just before the show.

Just a question - Gottlieb is an old German Moravian name that is very much in use in our town. Are the drummers from Moravian stock?

Dear Lt. Dan,

My son and I saw your show at the EAA this year (2010) and loved it. Especially "Purple Haze". You are the Bob Hope of modern times. Thank you. We also appreciated learning about your uncle's experiences during WWII. Your tribute to him and to all veterans is highly respected, honored, and appreciated. God bless you guys!

To Gary Sinise and all members of the Lt Dan Band,

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting military personnel and their families in this fashion. The concert was fantastic and I loved that all members of the band wore constant ear to ear smiles! I do not have the right words to express my gratitude for what you do, for it means so much. I had the privilege of standing in the 3rd row and, at times, right next to the stage to take pictures. Mr Kimo was directly in front of our group and Kimo wore the Engineers shirt! My husband is currently deployed with 27th Engineers. Our Commanders wife and rear-D commander were also there! Thank you!

I talked to my husband in Afghanistan after the concert. He is totally jealous that he wasn't here! And he loves Gary's bass BTW!

May you all be blessed!

Wow!!! Just attended my first concert last night at the Crown in Fayetteville, NC. I worked the show as a volunteer with the USO but I am a 23 year active duty retiree also. How great it was to watch our younger male and female soldiers and their families have a blast with the Lieutenant Dan Band! From the bottom of my heart, we thank you for the sacrifices you and your own families make in supporting your travels as you and your band support OUR TROOPS!

God bless you each and everyone!

We just got back from your Fayetteville, NC concert, and I just wanted to thank all of the band members for what you do for us (the military). I consider the Lt. Dan Band the Bob Hope of our time. The support you give to the military both here at home and over seas is greatly appreciated. The concert was awesome! Remember... Freedom isn't free. The price is paid in blood, but it's worth it. But if we give up that freedom, we have no one to blame but ourselves. America is the light on the hill for all to see and to come too (legally). GOD Bless you, and God Bless America.

Thank you for coming to Oshkosh for the EAA Air Adventure this year. I was thrilled to see the band on the schedule. And I have to say I was ****n away by the performance. I loved when the band pulled one of "our" enlisted men up on the stage to join in on the fun. He seemed to have the time of his life up there. Thank you for all you do for our veterns and for our troops serving overseas now. God Bless you and God Bless America

I saw your band tonight here in Airborne Country Fayetteville NC. It's nice to see that there are Hollywood people out there that do care about us and are not some crazy loons with an agenda other than to bring us some joy. I feel you guys are our modern John Wayne. No matter how you feel about politics you use your status as a way to build America up rather than tear her down. I served just shy of 8 years as a soldier and have served 10 years as an active duty spouse. Don't forget about us spouses because it's hard for us back home having to hold the fort down while their gone. It was a pleasure having you here come back anytime. May God bless you and your band. Feet and knees together. Airborne!

I just got home from seeing you and the LT Dan Band at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, NC. I was privileged to have a VIP ticket because I work as a DA civilian employee in one of the commands at Fort Bragg. I was so impressed by the genre of music the band plays, amazing!! And of course for your patriotic giving to the military, I can only say Thank you. I am the Mother of a Soldier who has served two tours in Iraq and I can't praise and thank you enough for all you do to support the Soldiers. Keep it up.

It was a long 13 hour day at the convention for us before you took the stage but knowing what you are about, I had some idea of what I was to experience. To my great delight, your show greatly exceeded all expectations. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of the concert. To me, it was the USO show I never saw in Nam. For me, it was the only event I've been to since then where the acknowledgement, your acknowledgement, of Nam era vets was heartwarming, heartfelt, truly from the heart and honest. That along with your request that we not forget all others who have served and are serving was remarkable. For the first time in some 40 years, you gave me the welcome home so many have tried to impart but have failed to deliver. As but one of less than a million left who served in Nam who are still alive today, I want to thank you so very much for remembering the historically discarded warriors in your own personal and sincere way and for doing all that you do today for our military, including those who are on the front lines but no longer on the front page. And, I want to especially thank you for remembering and working with those who gave much more than me and are now being helped by the DAV. But the best part, on top of it all, was watching you being filled with total enjoyment as you played that bass during every song. God provides no greater gift than loving one’s life work. It was a great two plus hour concert. Thanks for finding your way to Oshkosh and God's speed to you and for all you do for our military men and women.
